- A selection from a seed germination event. Seedling selection: from a batch of 2000 Dianella tasmanica produced in 2001. ‘Splice’ was selected based on compact habit, foliage colour and distinct foliage shape. PBR Status: Granted: 16-Dec-2008 Terminated: 14-Dec-2020
- Characteristics
- Leaves to 80 cm with distinct green and white variegation with a red tinge on the new leaves. Blue flowers in Spring followed by violet fruit in Autumn.
- Cultivation
- Best in moist loamy soils. Easy to establish and is usually fairly hardy and frost tolerant. It does prefer some shade but can grow in heavy shade and is good for mass planting under large trees.
