- Seedling selection: from a batch of 2000 Dianella tasmanica produced in 2001. D. ‘Rainbow’ was selected based on compact habit, foliage colour and distinct foliage. PBR Status: Granted: 16-Dec-2008 Terminated: 14-Dec-2020 shape.
- Characteristics
- Strappy leaved shrub grows to about 500mm in diametre with pinkish red new foliage that ages to a green and white variegation.
- Cultivation
- Best in moist loamy soils. Easy to establish and is usually fairly hardy and frost tolerant. It does prefer some shade but can grow in heavy shade and is good for mass planting under large trees.
