Grevillea juniperina 'Lunar Light'
Origin
Grevillea 'Lunar Light' arose as a sport on the prostrate yellow flowered form of Grevillea juniperina. The plant was growing in a garden in the Austraflora Nursery at Montrose. The applicant is Mr W Molyneux of Austraflora Nursery, Belfast Road, Montrose, Victoria. Originally registered as Grevillea juniperina 'Austraflora Lunar Light'
Characteristics
This cultivar retains the prostrate habit of the parent plant but is variegated, and the flowers are distinctly different in colour. The leaf variegation varies from all yellow on the new growth to mature leaves showing approximately 75% green and 25% variegation. The variegation is around the margins of the leaves. The flowers tend towards orange suffused with pink. Flowering starts in November. Diagnosis: This cultivar is distinguished from the prostrate yellow flowered form of G. juniperina by the variegated leaves and orange pink flowers.
Cultivation
Suitable for most soil types. Best in a sunny site but will tolerate some shade. Frost resistant to -6C. Responds well to pruning.
