- Chance seedling in the garden of Bindelong Nursery, Wandin North, Victoria.
- Characteristics
- Grevillea 'Amethyst' is a compact rounded small shrub to 1m × 1m. Flowers: Late winter to late spring, mauve-pink Foliage: Small linear simple leaves, upper surface mid-green. Comparators: Grevillea confertifolia, Grevillea sericea Reasons for distinctiveness: Grevillea confertifolia differs in having sessile inflorescences and flowers with pistils slightly shorter (10–12.5 mm). Grevillea sericea has longer pistils (> 19 mm long) and less prickly leaves.
- Cultivation
- This plant attracts nectar feeding birds and will tolerate heavy frosts and is suitable for a wide range of well drained soil types. Prefers full sun but will tolerate dappled shade.
