- Origin
- Melaleuca 'Ulladulla Beacon' is a low growing form of Melaleuca hypericifolia that was selected from a wild population on coastal headlands near Ulladulla, New South Wales. The cultivar was received by the Authority on 6 February 1985. The applicant is Austraflora Nurseries Pty Ltd, PO Box 146, Montrose, 3765.
- Characteristics
- It grows from 0.3 to 0.6m tall with a spread of 1 to 2m. The flowers occur in the spring and summer months and are a bright orange red in colour. Other features of the cultivar are as for Melaleuca hypericifolia.
- Cultivation
- Ornamental shrub. Suitable for most well drained soil types. Best in a sunny site but will tolerate some shade. Frost resistant
