- Correa 'Betty Fawcett' is said to be a hybrid between C. reflexa (Brisbane Ranges form) and Correa 'Marian's Marvel'. The cultivar was selected by Mr T. Fawcett in 1978. The cultivar was first received by the Authority in May 1980. Registration applied for by Mr T. Fawcett, Somerville, Victoria.
- Characteristics
- The cultivar is a medium dense shrub that grows to 1.0m x 2m. The foliage is dark green. The flowers are pink and yellow to 25mm long by 8mm wide. It flowers in Autumn and Spring. Diagnosis: This cultivar is very similar to Correa 'Marian's Marvel'. The flowers are very similar though Correa 'Marion's Marvel' has more area of yellow at the base of the bell. The foliage also differs somewhat, with the leaves of Correa 'Betty Fawcett' having deep indentations where the leaves occur on the leaf blade.
- Cultivation
- Hardy, reliable and adaptable cultivar which flowers prolifically, growing well in most soils. Best in a sunny site but will tolerate some shade. It responds well to heavy pruning and is drought tolerant and frost hardy.
