Origin

The origin of this cultivar is unknown. The parent plant has been growing in the garden of Mr and Mrs J Conde of Arnold Street, Killara, N.S.W since 1966. The plant was already present in the garden when the property was purchased. Cultivar first received by the Authority 6 August 1981. The applicant is Mrs E Conde of 1 Arnold Street, Killara, NSW 2071.

Characteristics

The cultivar grows to 3.5m tall by 2.5m wide. The inflorescence is ca. 7cm long by 5.5cm wide and musk pink, fading rather quickly to a silver pink. The anthers are greeny yellow. Diagnosis: Callistemon 'Cinderella' has been confused with C. 'Reeve's Pink'. C. 'Cinderella' can be distinguished by its green yellow anthers which contrast with those of C. 'Reeves Pink' which are black. The filaments are also very different, C. 'Reeve's Pink', being much paler. The inflorescence is marginally wider than those for C. Reeve's Pink'. C. 'Cinderella' appears to be closely related to C. citrinus. However, the anthers of C. citrinus are black while those of the cultivar are green yellow.

Cultivation

This cultivar must be propagated by vegetative means to preserve the cultivar form. Viable seed is set but plants raised from seed should not be labelled with the cultivar name. The cultivar is frost hardy. The flowering period is October to November in Sydney.
