- Leptospermum 'Julie Ann' is a naturally occurring prostrate form of Leptospermum scoparium var.rotundifoliumrom the Beecroft Peninsula, Jervis Bay area NSW. This form was brought into cultivation by Mr E Demuth in 1976. Cultivar received by the Authority 23 March 1979.
- Characteristics
- The plants in cultivation are 1m in diameter and grow to a height of about 230mm. The leaves are small and round being about 5mm in diameter. The mauve flowers are 20mm in diameter. They are borne terminally on short laterals. It is reported that the plants withstand frost and salt laden air without damage. Some plants have been known to flower as early as March. Diagnosis: This cultivar is different from other known naturally occurring forms of the species in its prostrate habit. Leptospermum scoparium var. rotundifolium normally attains a height of 2m compared with about 230mm for Leptospermum scoparium var.rotundifolium 'Julie Ann'

- Highly ornamental shrub. Suitable for most soil types. Best in a sunny site but will tolerate some shade. Frost resistant to -60C. Responds well to pruning.
