Origin
Chamelaucium 'Munns' is a naturally occurring form of Chamelaucium uncinatum Schau. introduced to cultivation by Mr George Munns, a former Curator of the gardens and grounds of the University of Western Australia. This cultivar was named in honour of his work with C. uncinatum in cultivation and in recognition of his devotion to duty and tireless work on the University grounds. Cultivar first received by the Authority 9 September 1977. The applicant is Mr George Lullfitz, PO Box 34 Wanneroo, WA.
Characteristics
This cultivar is of average vigour and has an erect habit. The leaves are ca. 20-25mm long and much narrower than is normal for the species. The flowers are ca. 20mm in diameter with a dark centre and a dark pink edge on the petals. This cultivar flowers from August to November in Western Australia and is the latest variety to flower. Diagnosis: This cultivar can be distinguished because of its narrower foliage and the flower colour.
