- Origin
- Callistemon 'Perth Pink' was selected from a batch of C. salignus seedlings growing as street trees near Herdsman Lake about 1960. It was named C. 'Perth Pink' by Mr Ken Hunter, Superintendent of Parks and Gardens of Perth City Council. The name refers to the flower colour. The cultivar was first received in July 1993. Application for registration received from Mr P Rawlings of Anstey Park Nursery, South Australia.
- Characteristics
- A tall open shrub to 4m tall. Leaves are lanceolate to 80mm long. The deep pink flowers are borne in clusters at the ends of the branches in spring and it may flower sporadically at other times of the year. Diagnosis: Callistemon 'Perth Pink' is much bushier than C. salignus.
- Cultivation
- The cultivar requires similar conditions as C. salignus. Frost hardiness is unknown.
